So I said I wanted a cold sweet citrus flavored drink. He asked me what to make for me and he educated me that this was a place where concatenations were custom made for the customer. It all looked very fancy with a glistening bottle collection along the wall and a bartender who liked like he stepped out of GQ Magazine. A few people were staring at their laptops and I walked to the bar to figure out what to order. I was able to get a closer look at the lamps hanging on the ceiling and the place seems not very busy in the early afternoon. I was never unable to see what was fully up there until this day where I was alone and went beyond the top of the stairs into this upside down world of the 70 Rainey building. The place was called The Tipsy Alchemist. Twice I have walked up the stairs to see the lamps but quickly had to go back down because the people I was with kept walking down Rainey Street and need to catch up with them. ![]() I could not take it anymore where I needed a place to have a drink and work, and remembered a bar with lamps hanging upside down from the ceiling.
